My signature message to the world is to be unapologetically you. As I’ve embarked on the journey of starting Born Unbreakable, my podcast show, I’ve encountered the most diverse, inspiring, and phenomenal human beings. One of the common threads I notice in listening to their unbreakable journeys is how self-acceptance contributes to their growth and success.

What would a world of radical self-acceptance look like? It would be waking up everyday and embracing yourself for exactly who you are and what you stand for. It would be you trusting that the right people will rally around and support that person. It would be you finding peace with those who don’t understand you and won’t rally behind you. It would be you recognizing that you aren’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

I can honestly say that it hasn’t been until my late 30s that I’ve fully embraced everything about myself because acceptance from others and people pleasing has been such a dominant part of my life. I love unicorns, I am a crime junkie, self-care is my jam (dancing is too), I am not religious but believe that what you put out into the universe you will get back, I’m progressive, and I don’t believe in monogamy.

Just writing out who I am is uncomfortable because I often feel like I must withhold parts of me based on the audience I am engaging with…but why? It’s because anything that is less than a socially accepted norm or possibly controversial could cause friction or flat-out non-acceptance. It’s taken me longer than ideal to make peace with this truth. I am so glad that I have because I would not want it any other way!

Do you radically accept yourself…every part of you? Where are you on your self-acceptance journey?
